I never realized I went to so many until right now. 2012 might be my last one unless 2013 has AMAZING bands. The sun is just exhausting! I also absolutely hate crowd surfers. Yeah, I said it. I think they all deserve to fall and get really hurt. Sorry, I don’t enjoy your foot in my face and your fat ass on my neck.
I felt a little old when I was there. I have a Master’s Degree and I heard some kids talking about AP tests…But at the same time the lineup was definitely for little high school Kyra :)
I saw Taking Back Sunday and relived those years. Not to mention JOHN NOLAN was there playing with TBS!!!!! I think he is so amazing! I love Straylight Run so much more than TBS but it was still so nice to see him playing with his old friend :)
I also watched part of LostProphets! I screamed at the top of my lungs when they started playing “Last Train Home”. Then I proceeded to sing all the words just like I used to do when I was 16. I saw them back in 05 The Culture Room. I still remember hearing some people in line talking about a show LostProphets was playing at University of Central Florida. I remember thinking that it was so cool that a university would have concerts… ha… ha. Little did I know that I would soon be a student there and attend countless shows :)
After LostProphets I quickly ran to catch the end of Miss May I’s set. They were awesome as usual :)
I also saw:
Of Mice & Men
The Ghost Inside
Skip the Foreplay (those men are beautiful)
Motionless in White(I really didn’t like their music)
Yellowcard (I actually didn’t see them but I heard and sang along to “Ocean Ave”.)
We The Kings (I think they’re adorable and they’re from Florida! I watched them a tiny bit while they covered “In the Middle” by Jimmy Eat World. As I was walking away I heard some kid ask someone if Jimmy Eat World was there. LMFAO! Then I went up to him and explained that We The Kings (which look nothing like Jimmy Eat World) were only covering the song “In the Middle” and that Jimmy Eat World was not at Warped Tour this year. I’m telling you, there were so many dumb little kids there.
Anyway, all those bands I saw were great but the best by far was… STREETLIGHT MANIFESTO!!!!!!!!!
Ah everything about their performance was amazing! They’re just such talented musicians and I absolutely love their music! I’m not even a huge fan of ska but I love them. Of course they played “Here’s to Life” last :) I felt like jumping on stage and playing that little clarinet solo. I figured out how to play it years ago when I first fell in love with them. The song has a clarinet solo! How could I not love them? I danced, and screamed, and made trumpet sounds, and jumped, and even conducted at one point (yeah, I’m a ex-band geek). I absolutely enjoyed their performance! It wasn’t my first time seeing them live but it was definitely the best! I can’t wait to see them again sometime :)
So that’s it! That was my review of Warped Tour 12.
